So many times people are intimidated when attending a new church fellowship because they are not sure what to expect. Here are some things to consider that might help you feel more comfortable when you come to our weekend service.
Attire
Wear what you want, but know that we are not having a fashion show and we will typically be dressed casual. We understand that casual means something different for everybody. The Lead Pastor will normally have on something like khakis and a golf shirt or button down. You are on your own from there, but no matter what you wear you will fit in.
The Building
We are currently meeting in a school and understand that it does not feel like a typical church building. Churches are not buildings, they are the people. We will do everything we can to make our temporary situation condusive to a worship service.
Parking
When you get to the school you will hopefully find a helpful person in the parking lot directing you to the next available parking spot. Try not to run them over and cooperate with them because they are attempting to make the parking situation the best it can be.
Kids
Kids are important to us. All parents can take your kids ages 0-5th grade to the main hallway of the school. The breakdown for our kids' classes is:
Nursery- Ages 0-2 yrs.
- Ages 3 (or potty trained)-5 yrs.
- Grades K-5th grade.
The kids programs run simultaneous with the worship service.
Worship Service
When you enter the building you will receive a bulletin that will have our beliefs on the back, announcements and a fill-in-the-blank sermon note on the inside.
At 10:30 our music and singing will start and last roughly 20 minutes. The words to our songs will be on the screen and you are encouraged to sing along.
During this time one of our elders will come forward and share a scripture on giving and we will receive our tithes (tenth of income) and offerings. You are under no obligation to give. We make no apologies for following the scriptural commands to receive our offering and understand that organizations in this world operate financially.
Next we will usually have a short video that will transition us in to our message for the day. The Lead Pastor will then share a message utilizing the Bible and relevent stories to challenge us to walk the Christian life. Bring a Bible if you'd like to follow along, but again you are under no obligation.
Finally, we will have a time of response to the message. That's it! A good hour and 15 minutes at the most and you have been encouraged, inspired and challenged to change your world.
